Moon, our Club Secretary, sent out an email about Trinitas, our scheduled April outing. The owners of the course are having legal problems with Calaveras County. That's what usually happens when you build an 18 hole golf course on land zoned for agriculture and you don't get your zoning changed or your permits in order. What the owners did was build the course then ask for permission once the course was finished and open for business. That's not going over so well. And there was an order closing the course on January 27th as a public nuisance.
According to a couple of articles I read in the Stockton Record, the owners are going to file for bankruptcy if they can't keep the course open. The County isn't moving their position. I don't think there's going to be a pretty way out for the owners of the course. So, IMHO, don't count on playing there in March.
But, as I type this I searched for the club website and found it still up and running here. So maybe we'll get a chance to play what has been reported to be a great place to play golf. Let's see at next weekend's play at Stevinson Ranch if Moon has any more information.
