Longball Announcement Coming Soon
Hime mentioned today that he's about ready to send out the tournament info by snail mail and email. When I get it I'll put the info up on the club blog.
Wolf Run, in Reno, is the UNR Golf Team course, or at least it used to be the last time I played it, back in the stone age. The same people that run Dayton Valley run Wolf Run and bluntly, they want us to play both courses. There's work going on at Genoa Lakes and we're looking for another place to play. So, Hime is going to play Wolf Run to check on the course condition before he commits club money for us all to play there.
The Friday practice round is either going to be at Arrow Creek (which I know nothing about) or Thunder Canyon in Washoe Valley. (the club has played practice rounds there in the past, most recently last year).
Get your check writing hand ready because this year's tournament will not disappoint.

Huzzah For Me!
For all the times I've golfed at the tournament or in the club events, I can think of two or three times I've actually put my name on the long drive marker and it has always been beaten. Only in the last few years have I started using a regular driver. So, it is truly a miracle for me to win the long drive. Finally.

8 of the B flighers had over two putts per hole and there were 7 total members with 40+ putts. Surprisingly, I was not one of those today as I led the B flight with 32 putts.

Always Watch Your Speed On The Base
There's still a police force on the old Fort Ord base and while my group was on the 4th hole, we saw this guy making somone's day. Remember that the next time we're playing either Bayonet or Black Horse.
Looking At The Monterey Bay From The Course
After a while the overcast broke and it turned into a beautiful day. The fog stayed out to sea and the view of Monterey Bay was very pretty.
View From The First Tee At Black Horse
Though it was still overcast when the last group teed off, it remained short sleeve and short pant weather all day.
Mel T And Myself
I've golfed with Mel T a couple of times since I've started the blog and playing in the monthly events. Mel is a good guy to golf with. He likes golfing with me because I'm the only regular member with a higher index number.
Not Acceptable Practice Conditions
If you're going to have grass tees on the driving range, then have grass. If you're not going to grow the grass, have mats. But don't have sand and dirt mixed up with blades of grass haphazardly poking up through the mess. For our $105 I expect more.
Our Welcome To Black Horse
Today, the Daddy Longball Golf Club played the other course at the old Fort Ord, Black Horse. As usual, we are welcomed on the sign at the entrance to the parking lot.
